Course Preview: 2017 El Dorado Benduro
This is a two day race with 6 timed stages and 4 untimed transfers. The course covers 34 miles, with approximately 9,000 feet of descending and 6,000 feet of climbing through manzanita and pine forests featuring steep, loose, and rocky technical terrain with drops and other natural and manmade features. THIS RACE IS NOT FOR BEGINNERS.
Printed course description available at registration. FREE MAPS are available at the Mace Mill Staging Area and Topo MAPS are available for purchase at the Georgetown Ranger Station. DO NOT use the old map available online, you will get lost.
Day 1: Bald Mtn, Mt Ballarat + Slate Mtn
AM Shuttle: Board Cyclepath Outfitters shuttle at the Mace Mill Staging Area, drop off at Start A at Bald Mtn.Stage 1: Trail 4-1 (11E35), left on 4 (11E43), finishing at creek crossing
Transfer 1: Trail 4 (11E43), right on Trail 1 (12N82) to top of Mt Ballarat
Stage 2: Start 2 at Summit of Mt Ballarat, down Trail 1 (12N82), left on 6-1 (11E28), finishing at intersection of Trail 6 (12N83)
Transfer 3: Left on Trail 6 (12N83), Right on Trail 7 (11E37 becoming 12N76 to Start 3 at the entrance of Trail 7-1 (11E37)
Stage 3: Trail 7-1 (11E37), left on Trail 7 (11N89) to Rock Creek Road
PM Shuttle: Board Cyclepath Outfitters shuttle for drop off at Mace Mill Staging Area

AM Shuttle: Board Cyclepath Outfitters shuttle at the Mace Mill Staging Area, drop off at Start A at Bald Mtn.Stage 4: Trail 4-1 (11E35), Right on Trail 10 (11E44), left to stay on Trail 10, Right on Trail 1-3 (11E30)
Transfer 4: Trail 1 (11E23), Turn Left to stay on Trail 1 up the hill to the start
Stage 5: Trail 1 (11E23) to 12N72
Transfer 5: Left on 12N72 up to Bald Mtn Staging Area
Stage 6: Trail 1 (11E23), left on Trail 9 (11E13) crossing Rock Creek Road finishing at creek crossing
Transfer 6: Trail 9 (11E13)
PM Shuttle: Back to Mace Mill Staging Area (or ride it's not far)
